September 2025 sees us, at Enbecom, maintaining our steadfast dedication to supporting global environmental initiatives. In collaboration with Ecologi, we’ve made considerable progress in environmental conservation. This month, our focus is primarily on two projects: The Tambopata-Bahuaja Biodiversity Reserve in Peru and the Matavén forest in eastern Colombia.
Safeguarding the Tambopata-Bahuaja Biodiversity Reserve in Peru
The Tambopata-Bahuaja Biodiversity Reserve, located in the core of Peru, spans an impressive 591,119 hectares of lush rainforest. This venture plays a crucial role in preventing nearly 460,000 tCO₂e emissions every year, a significant move towards reducing the worldwide carbon footprint and lessening the impact of climate change.
However, our focus goes beyond just carbon emissions. The initiative also promotes biodiversity and uplifts local communities. By preserving the diverse ecosystem, we’re guaranteeing the survival of numerous species, including those at risk. Concurrently, we’re backing local communities, encouraging their economic development and sustainability through eco-tourism and other environmentally friendly undertakings.
Conservation of the Matavén Forest in Eastern Colombia
We take immense pride in backing the Matavén REDD+ project in eastern Colombia. The project aims to protect 1.15 million hectares of tropical forest within Colombia’s Indigenous Reservation, a crucial initiative to combat widespread deforestation and biodiversity loss.
Through this project, we’re not just preserving the lush greenery and diverse species, but also respecting and safeguarding the rights of the indigenous inhabitants. The forest holds more than just biodiversity; it’s a home for these communities, making it essential to ensure their way of life remains untouched.
We’re delighted to reveal that since the inception of our collaboration with Ecologi, over 4 years ago, we’ve funded the planting of 4628 trees. This accomplishment echoes our commitment to fostering a healthier planet.
